I have encountered a case of subclinical cervical spondylosis presenting with just incontinence. Admittedly, he also had faecal incontinence but denied neurological symptoms and there was no gross neurological signs on initial examination. MS & DS is not exactly uncommon. I have encountered 2 cases in my last 18 months - both Chinese!
Although there is no accepted CMG findings pathognomonic of a neurogenic bladder, a hyperreflexic either phasic or on top of hypocompliance tracing unassociated with sensation of urge cannot be explained by any other conditions. Admittedly, a hypocompliant bladder per se with or without sensation cannot be diagnostic.
Although expensive, I find MRI musch less operator dependent and a good exclusive
investigation for and organic spinal cord disorder.
