I have a 50 yr old Chinese man referred by an oncologist with a biopsy proven SCC of
the glans penis. The patient received radiotherapy by the oncologist but the lesion did
not shrink and he was miserable with pain and dysuria. I performed partial penile
amputation and subsequently ilio-inguinal LN dissection for him. Both the inguinal and the
left iliac LN were involved. Soon after that he c/o of pain around his right hip and
general weakness. An ortho consult with X-rays and bone scan did not reveal any bone mets.
He also is a diabetic and he had 2 episodes of hypoglycaemia attributed to anorexia
brought on by depression. He has been admitted with near unconsciousness and severe
dehydration. What is happening? (I have discovered the answer)
